​6-WEEK CLIMB STRONGER RIDE PROGRAM

May 11 – June 21

The City Alps Ride Program includes two coached climb-focused sessions each week, designed to help riders of all levels build strength, confidence, and climbing ability over time.​​ 

Ride Session A: “Famous Climb Day” (Endurance + fatigue resistance)

Ride Session B: “Explosive Climber Day” (Power + technique)

Program Overview

A fun, structured 6-week climbing program designed to build stronger legs, better endurance, and serious fitness — whether you’re a cyclist, runner, or just someone who wants a goal to work toward before summer.

You don’t need to be a “hardcore rider” to join. You just need to show up consistently and we’ll take care of the plan, the motivation, and the progression.

The Commitment

 

2x indoor ride sessions per week
These are the core sessions of the program and where the biggest gains happen.

1x weekly strength session
A home / open gym version will also be provided if you can’t attend in person at the studio

The Weekly Ride Sessions 

Ride Session A: Famous Climb Day

(Endurance + fatigue resistance)


Each week we take on a legendary climb to the top of:
Alpe d’Huez, Stelvio, Ventoux, Tourmalet, L’Angliru, Mortirolo.

This session is about building stamina, pacing, gear shifting, turning corners, and the ability to hold strong power when your legs start to burn.

Expect:

  • Longer, steady climbing intervals

  • Controlled pacing + mental toughness

  • “Finish strong” summit efforts

Typical 1 hour session structure:
Warm-up → Long climb simulation → Summit push → Cool down

Ride Session B: Explosive Climber Day

(Power + technique)


This ride is shorter, punchier, and more dynamic — focused on building climbing power, control, and efficiency.

Expect:

  • Shorter, higher-intensity intervals

  • Standing vs seated climbing drills

  • Cadence changes + gear work

  • Attack-style efforts and punchy climbs

Session styles include:

  • Pedal stroke technique drills

  • Power ladder climbs

  • Summit attacks

  • Low cadence strength work

  • Flat-to-climb change-ups

  • Descend + climb + hold efforts

1x weekly climb-specific strength class (Optional but Highly Recommended)


This is designed to directly improve your climbing strength and reduce injury risk.

Focus areas include:

  • Core strength + stability

  • Lower back strength

  • Unilateral strength (balance + powering each leg independently)

  • Quad + glute strength (your main climbing muscles)

  • Light upper body work for posture and control

These sessions will run as part of our usual weekly large-group strength classes throughout the 6-week block.

You’ll also receive:

So you can repeat sessions in open gym time or at home (if you have weights).

Progressive Training That Works

Every session is programmed to build week by week.
You won’t just repeat the same rides — the training progresses so your fitness improves steadily across the full 6 weeks.

Accountability + Motivation

We’ll also have a tracker board to help you stay consistent, build momentum, and stay motivated as the weeks go on.

This program works best when you commit — and we’ll be there to coach, encourage, and keep the energy high the whole way through.

You don’t need to be “a cyclist” — you just need to commit to the process. The results come from consistency, and we’ll make sure you enjoy the journey.

Each session is offered multiple times across the week, giving you flexibility to choose the days and times that work best for your schedule.

You’re welcome to add endurance classes in between as we’ll continue our usual weekly training at the studio. Any additional classes are completely optional if you’d like extra training volume. You have unlimited access to all of our classes. See below for the first 3-week schedule.
