About the Event

ABOUT THE TRIP

Cycling

You can expect some tough cycling days, but, as always with City Alps, there will be plenty of room for fun vibes, good food and wine and adventuring through the Tuscan Hills.

The aim is to have two groups based on pacing and training history (you don't have to join the ‘Climb like a Pro’ training program to join the trip, but it is strongly recommended) and we will be lead by guides (possibly from the under 23 professional Qhubeka Assos cycling team) for 2 of the 4 cycling days. There are 3 team ride days and 1 free day to ride some more or other.

Day 1: ‘Explore’ - pro guided day out to get a feel for the surrounds and loosen up the legs (+-100kms, with some decent elevation).

Day 2: ‘Climb, climb, climb’ day - we will tackle the famous climb of Monte Serra that Lance Armstrong, Tyler Hamilton, Floyd Landis and Jan Ulrich used to compare their times on. Tough City Alps day. (+-80 kms, elevation tbc). This is where we test ourselves a bit and the reason for all the ‘Climb like a Pro’ training.

Day 3: ‘Tour’ - Pro guided long day out. All about the area, the food and the experience, time in the saddle to earn those carbs and take in that scenery (+- 150km).

Day 4: ‘Sunday Fun Day’ - free day. Whatever fun looks like for you! Your day, your call.
