CITY ALPS TURNS 3

ON 19 MARCH!

What and When

We're planning ahead so please RSVP asap (below).

For those City Alpers who have been with us for a little longer, you may recall that we had decorations up in the studio to mark our 1st birthday just before Covid hit. For our 2nd birthday, we were stuck in lock down. But no more:  this year we celebrate the City Alps community together: where we started, our journey together and where we are going!

Itinerary:

Saturday 19 March | 2:00 - 5:30 pm: optional City Alps Ride Club outride (distances, route and pacing groups to be communicated with those who sign-up - showers will be available)

6 pm: borrel, beer & pizza. Beers will be on us, and pizza if you are joining will be split in the usual Club Ride way

6:45 pm: City Alpers prizegiving

7 pm: Special Guest Speaker
As part of the celebrations, we will also have a special guest speaker, Bas Rotgans, who pretty much epitomizes our shared adventure ready mission.

After years of regular mountain biking Bas discovered that he loved riding longer and longer distances. Combined with his sense of adventure and love for the outdoors this developed into a path that lead him to some of the toughest and most challenging bikepacking routes and races in the world. He’s ridden his bike in Scotland, Sweden, Pyrenees, Morocco, Kyrgystan, and South Africa. Bas will talk about the genesis of his backpacking journey, how he preps, his gear and, of course, the bike set up. Not to be missed.

8:30 pm: Music and the sweaty City Alps dance floor opens up, with the option to buy beers and wine (DJ requests of your fave ride songs, always welcome).
